1 - Touch destination on the map
This is a touch-sensitive panel. Choose your destination station by touching on the corresponding station (White Dots)

2 - Select ticket type ('Adults' tickets are set by default)
You can choose from the touch screen the ticket type. There are two types: 'Adults' and 'Concessionary'. You can also choose to buy multiple tickets.

3 - Ensure destination and fare are correct
Both the destination and fare will be displayed on the touch screen. Check that they are correct before you proceed to the next step.

4 - Insert coins or notes
You can pay by either coins or notes.

Note limit:
One note ($20) for each transaction

Coins accepted:
50 Cents / $1 / $2 / $5 / $10

5 - Take tickets and change
After you have paid the correct amount, the tickets will be issued in a matter of seconds. Tickets will be dispensed on the left side, and change (if any) will come out on the right side. Don't forget to take them before you go.

Before taking a train, if you do not have an Octopus Card, you have to buy a ticket. These tickets, each called a Single Journey Ticket (SJT), can be purchased from SJT Issuing Machines located near entry gates of all stations. Ticket issuing conditions
Tickets issued are subject to conditions and by-laws displayed in this station. Copies are available from the Customer Service Centre.

'Concessionary' fares are for:
Children 3-11
Senior citizens 65 and above
Students with MTR Student Travel Card
